Our kitchen is coming along

The kitchen was pretty outdated. We have the original cabinets, which we have painted, and we still need to put the handles on them. We have yet to move in our stove/oven and dishwasher, and our fridge is in the backyard until the tile is done (very inconvenient!). But the granite countertops have been installed, the cabinets are pretty much done, tile's being put in, the sink and faucet are new, and the kitchen window is new. Not too shabby!

Honeymoon

So our Honeymoon was in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. On the caribbean side. Gorgeous beaches with warm, clear water. I wasn't a fan of the humidity, though, or the mosquitoes for that matter. But we had an awesome time. Jorge mostly snorkeled while I swam and laid out.

Changes

We are now married! We had soooooo much fun at the wedding; I wish we could do it again and again. Definitely everything we had hoped for. Now it's back to normal life with the bug (our dog Ginger). Except we have all our cool gifts from the wedding (is it wrong that I'm so excited to have a standing mixer and food processor?) which I can't wait to use once the kitchen is finished!

And we are homeowners. But we've kind of been camping out in our home, since so much work needs to be done before we can move everything in. So far we have: had the popcorn ceiling removed, removed wallpaper from the family room, installed two new windows and a new sliding door, had the flooring removed from all but the bedrooms, painted the kitchen cabinets, bought new kitchen appliances, and primed some of the walls. Tile is being put installed right now, and once it's done and the walls are painted, we can move in the furniture. We might actually have cable again one of these days.

Still, we have a lot to do. Once the tile is done, we need to repaint the bottom of the kitchen cabinets (they have glue stuck to them from the tile guys grinding down the floor), put the handles up on the cabinet doors, paint the walls, install baseboard and crown molding, put new casing around the front door, take the wallpaper down in our bedroom, install flooring in our bedroom and paint it, get a new windown for our bedroom . . . the list goes on forever.

Needless to say, it feels like things are moving really slow and I can't wait to have a normal home that isn't under construction.
